T.R.A.P.S I use to get these dreadful anxiety attacks. At the peak, i would hear noises so similar to much of this.
Particularly the agonizing moans of despair. Usually accompanied with a war drum and static.
Your use of the word void is very inspiring. When I write anything noteworthy. It feels as if i'm channeling from the void, where i assume all consciousness derives from. (I know i sound absurd)

about

The music equivalent of a bad trip - I dedicated two years of my life trying to translate the void as I know it into a listenable experience.

This music is meant to function as an overwhelming sensory experience and might not line up with more traditional ideas of 'enjoyable' or 'fun'. Fans of dark ambient and drone music will probably feel most at home here, but I wouldn't necessarily refer to it as such... the closest sub-genre I have been able to come up with is 'dark hypno journey drone'. Every song is tonal and composed, but there remains a very intentional hypnotic, pulsing (almost breathing) element to pretty much every part of the album. I've tried to make this music feel as organic and as alien as possible. Even for me now, after listening to it hundreds of times over it still feels alive, which is one of the main reasons why I believe I have succeeded in at least some ways.

This is dark music in the most foundational way I can personally imagine. I'm not talking about 'spooky' or 'creepy' here, this is the stuff of nightmares. I want it to feel like an aggressive mushroom trip. I wanted to capture that feeling of being consumed by something totally alien to you. With an intense shroom trip I have felt like I am given just enough with which I can relate to and understand so that I feel fear, and nothing more. I wanted to make music in the same vein.

There are voices. They scream out to you, they ask you for help, they wish to be woken up, they pray, they chant, they cry. They say things that you cannot understand. They say things not for you to understand. There are sounds of animals being slaughtered, there are sounds of giant machines gyrating, moving, and destroying. There is a story that can only be told by sound.

The relationship I have to The Mushroom and to Syrian Rue has been a major influence to me in making this music. I wanted to make an album that totally consumes the active listener and brings them to a place they didn't know they wanted to go... in many ways that is the function of psychedelic plants for me and all I wish to do is share.
